A PERFECT Couples’ Vacation: The Most Romantic Hotels in Palm Springs
The sun-kissed desert landscape of Palm Springs is the perfect place for turning up the romance with your significant other. If you’re currently planning a getaway with your partner, keep reading for the MOST romantic hotels in Palm Springs for couples.
The hotels in Palm Springs are some of the best in all of California, if not the entire country.
Palm Springs has long been a second home to me – I’ve traveled there from my home base in Los Angeles countless times.
Which is why I’m SO excited to help you book your hotel and share a few ideas on things to do in Palm Springs so you can have the BEST time with your special person ❤️
From the resort atmosphere of Miramonte Resort & Spa to the immaculate Korakia Pensione, these hotels in Palm Springs are perfect for couples looking to immerse and spend time together surrounded by a breathtaking natural setting.
A Note on the Hotels Included in This List

If you’re a little bit familiar with hotels in Palm Springs already, you’ll notice I didn’t include a few in this list, like the Ace Hotel & Swim Club or The Saguaro, for example.
While I absolutely love these hotels, I kept them out of this list because I think these hotels are well-suited for a vacation with a group of friends.
This list is curated specifically for those looking for the most relaxing, romantic hotels in Palm Springs and the surrounding area.
By the way, this guide also includes hotel and resort options just outside Palm Springs proper — in Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage.

What Time of Year is Best to Visit Palm Springs?

The best time to visit Palm Springs is typically between December and April when the weather is warm, but not scorching hot.
During this time, you can enjoy plenty of outdoor activities like hiking, golfing, and swimming.
A local’s opinion? The BEST weather in Palm Springs is from February to April.
If you’re looking for less crowds, mid-October to December 1st is also a great time of year. It’s less crowded in Palm Springs because the ‘snowbirds’ aren’t in town yet.
Snowbirds in Palm Springs have second homes or seasonal rentals and usually come into town to escape the cold winter months in other parts of the country.
If you don’t mind extreme heat, you can also visit during the summer months, but keep in mind that temperatures can go well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
More Local Insights on Events in Palm Springs
There are annual events held in Palm Springs that you’ll either want to plan to attend or avoid altogether.
In January, there’s the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
In February, it’s Modernism Week, an 11-day event celebrating midcentury modern design, architecture, art, fashion, and culture in Greater Palm Springs.
In March, there’s the BNP Paribas Open, a renowned tennis tournament in Indian Wells.
And in April, you should plan around Coachella and Stagecoach.
You can come into town specifically for those events, of course.
But if you’re dreaming of the ultimate getaway filled with spa treatments and incredible dining without the hassle of festival-goers blasting music in the room next to yours – I’d suggest avoiding the month of April altogether.
Now, let’s dive into my hand-curated list of the most romantic hotels in Palm Springs!

There are actually two villas on the property, the Mediterranean Villa and the Moroccan Villa.
You can choose from an array of rooms and suites within them, such as the Adobe Room, which is next door to the pool and fountain.
The grounds feature lush citrus trees, fragrant oleander, gorgeous bougainvillea, and date palm trees swaying in the breeze. At night, fire pits radiate with warmth, and the light flickers on the glossy surface of each swimming pool.

Secluded, quiet, and adults-only, Villa Royale is a quintessential California hideaway. If you and your partner like staying at hotels inspired by history, Villa Royale is it.
A must on my list of most romantic hotels in Palm Springs, this dreamy retreat channels the golden age of Hollywood with stylish, vintage furnishings and decor.
Originally opened in 1947, Villa Royale has plenty of historic charm in a great location not far from the Ace Hotel, the Parker, and the Saguaro. If you like Mission Revival style architecture, you’ll love it here.
Plus, Villa Royale is located right next to Elmer’s, an incredible diner locals love. You HAVE to go here for breakfast and get the Dutch baby – it’s delicious!

7. Westin Mission Hills
⭐️ Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars – With more than 1,400 positive reviews! | Check Rates and Availability ⭐️
At 360 acres, Westin Mission Hills is massive – so big, in fact, that you can request a golf cart ride throughout the property 24/7.
There are two golf courses on property, so be sure to bring your golf clubs if you like golfing.
Right on location, two cafes, a grill, and a restaurant make it super convenient to grab a quick meal or have a special dinner.
THE BOTTOM LINE: The vibe at Mission Hills is much like a resort, so if you prefer a resort experience instead of a boutique hotel, this is a great option for you.
Mission Hills is also closer to the freeway, which makes it accessible to Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Joshua Tree.

8. Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa
⭐️ Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars – With more than 2,900 positive reviews on Tripadvisor! | Check Rates and Availability ⭐️
Similar to Mission Hills, the Desert Springs JW Marriott is also a resort-style option with plenty of opportunities to golf. I think the coolest thing here, though, is the gondola rides!
Yes, that’s right – you can actually take a boat ride through a river that runs through the property.
The massages, facials, and other spa services here are also a major draw.
And would you believe there are six restaurants on property? You’ll never be out of things to do while staying at Desert Springs Resort.
However, keep in mind (along with all the resort options on this list) that other guests at the hotel may include families with small children, so it *might* not be the most peaceful option on this list.
Especially if you are parents, and you’re taking a little romantic vacay without the kids! 😉
If that doesn’t bother you, though, then go for it!
THE BOTTOM LINE: For a completely effortless experience, stay at Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa. This is one of the best hotels in the Palm Springs area for couples because it makes your entire stay all about completely unwinding and spending time with your special person.

9. Miramonte Resort & Spa
⭐️ Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars – With more than 600 positive reviews! | Check Rates and Availability ⭐️
Last but not least, the Miramonte Resort & Spa is one of the most romantic hotels in Palm Springs because it’s just so breathtaking!
Technically in Indian Wells, the Miramonte has gorgeous Spanish-style architecture that pairs so well with the desert landscape and picturesque San Jacinto Mountains.
It truly feels like an oasis here. 😍
The award-winning spa is considered one of the best in the area — and there’s a huge fitness center, yoga studio, and outdoor meditation gardens.
In my opinion, this resort is one of the best hotels in Palm Springs for couples because there’s an adults-only swimming pool, which provides you the tranquility you and your partner are seeking on your romantic getaway.
THE BOTTOM LINE: Out of the resorts on this list, I’d go with Miramonte. It’s one of the best hotels in Palm Springs for couples because it really has it all.
It’s a little bit smaller than the other two, which helps keep you away from potentially rowdy crowds.
I’ve been to the hotel’s restaurant, Citrus & Palm, which has SUCH a romantic setting.
You can sit outdoors underneath olive trees lit by lanterns. Really beautiful.
Sigh, I’m literally dreaming of it all over again. Book this right now 😍

On Couples Travel vs. Solo Travel
One of my favorite things in life is taking a relaxing vacation with my boyfriend. I do love solo travel, but I also love traveling with him.
Each type of travel brings different things to the table — I feel so lucky to be able to travel alone sometimes, and also have other opportunities to travel together with him.
Traveling as a couple fosters a deep connection and creates a trove of shared memories. You’ll find yourselves reminiscing about that tiny café in Paris or the time you both got drenched in a surprise downpour at home.
Sure, you’ll face challenges, like deciding on where to eat (the eternal struggle!) or navigating a foreign city. But overcoming these together strengthens your bond.
Both solo and couples travel offer enriching experiences, each with its unique flavor.
Palm Springs is such a beautiful place. I truly hope you enjoy your couples getaway in Palm Springs, this magical Southern Californian city.
There you have it, friends! That’s my list of the best hotels in Palm Springs. Now go, have a wonderful time with your significant other, and thank me later 😉 !
